Nap time

Nap time for daddy, but I get to lay here and sleep with him and he'll play with me when he gets up. He doesn't mind when I lay on his stomach eventhough I'm bigger now.

Growing quickly

What a change from the first ultrasound photo. The baby actually developed into a fetus and you can clearly see that it's shaped like a baby (except it is not quite proportional yet). The head is twice the size of the body. It's still too early to tell the baby's sex, but we will be thrilled no matter God gives us. During the ultrasound, the baby was moving around quite a bit. It was such a neat experience to see the twists and turns a 7cm fetus can perform.

160 beats per minute

Amy had her doctor's appointment today and the doctor listened to the heartbeat. It was 160 beats per minute. The belief is that if the heart beat exceeds 140 beats per minute, it tends to be a girl because girls have faster heart beats. Boys tend to have 140 beats or lower per minute. However, they also say that women who experience a lot of morning sickness early in their pregnancy tend to have girls. Amy had very little morning sickness with a fetal heart rate of 160 per minute so they both send confusing signs as to what the gender will be. We'll find out soon enough. Stay tuned . . .

Phantom of the Opera coming to San Diego!

I'm a dork, but hubby said he wanted to take me to go see Phantom of the Opera coming to San Diego in July and I'm so excited. It's a bit early, but we already got our tickets. Good seats sell out fast so I'm so happy we haver our seats reserved. I've wanted to see Phantom for so long! Yippee.

Feeling full, but getting hunger pains

Being pregnant opens the door to a variety of new feelings that never occured so consistently before:

1) Feeling bloated and full (stomach looks like it just had a big buffet dinner) when you haven't eaten yet and feeling pretty hungry.
2) You definitely feel more weight on you when you walk, get up, sit, stand, but to your surprise, your actual weight only went up 1 pound.
3) When 2PM hits, you feel like your body is shutting down for the night
4) You're hungry, but nothing seems appetizing at the moment
5) Waking up a few times in the middle of the night to go pee, thus, not giving you a continuous night's sleep. You can't really ignore the urge either.
6) Queasiness hits randomly anytime of the day
7) You go through a period of feeling fat in your 1st trimester because your stomach is not big enough for people to notice that you're pregnant. People who don't know you, just thinks you need to do sit-ups more.
8) You're in that in-between stage of feeling your current pants are strangling you, but not big enough to wear maternity clothes.
