4-month baby bear update

This is his "not so happy" face

Some developments from our baby bear at 4 months old:

1) Learned to flip from his back to his stomach all on his own.

2) Says "mam" or ""mom" randomly through the day. It starts and ends with an "m" so not sure if he knows he is saying "mom" or if it's just another random babble word of his.

3) Understands "nai nai" which means milk in Cantonese

4) While someone is balancing him under his arm pits, he can jump and throw his whole weight into the air and then kick his feet.

5) Kicks REALLY hard and splashes a lot during bath time

6) Can see and recognize familiar faces across the room and break out in a smile

7) Has a 6 hour stretch at night, which allows mommy and daddy to not wake up as often

Biggest Lobster I've ever seen

The other day Allen bought the smallest lobster of the bunch at 99 Ranch Market. Lobster was on sale for $6.99 a pound and this is the smallest one he ended up with:
Well, it just happens that he was not feeling well and didn't want to eat any of it so I had to eat the whole thing by myself. It took me two days to finish it. It sure was very good! Orion suffered a little from it because his face broke out a little after I ate the lobster :(

Valentine's Trip

Our whole family went to Vancouver and Seattle on Valentine's weekend and escaped San Diego's stormy weather. Amazingly, it was not rainy in Seattle or Vancouver while we were there. It was around 33 degrees, but the skies were blue and we were able to be outdoors the whole time. We liked Vancouver better than Seattle because it is a little more different from San Diego, it has nice scenery and delicous Chinese food! We also loved the public market on Granville Island in Vancouver.

Here is our bear getting his bath at the Sheraton Hotel sink:

Good times

Orion spat up milk last night out of his mouth and nose, but it didn't seem to bother him. In fact, after we started talking to him, he started smiling just a minute after he spat up. This was at 3:30am. We are so lucky to have such a happy and easy baby.

For the first time, the other day we saw him show preference to who is holding him. Usually we could pass him off to anyone, but yesterday he looked at the person and realized it wasn't someone he knew and then wailed. He's also been very active during bath time. He's realized that water is fun and started splashing water all over the bathroom. Water was on the mirrors, floors and he even ended up swallowing some when it splashed all over his face. He was loving it!
